UPMC employs 48,000 a major health care facilities in western Pennsylvania.  Accountable for writing reports and the creating clinical interfaces programming for the EPIC Electronic Medical Record.

Key Achievements:

  • Created interface for EON Transcriptions to file to eRecord
  • Created a program to list other Image cast cancels that did not error.

Information Science & Service, LLC, Flint, Michigan

MUMPS Programmer                                                                                                                                                             2003 to 2009

A sub contractor for Genesee Packaging Incorporated, a parts packaging firm for General Motors employing 300.  Accountable for creating documentation, file layouts and program flow diagrams for the current programs through source code and the debugger. Monitored programs and a UNIX system for errors and corrected.  Implemented modifications as requested and made suggestions as to where improvements could be made.

Key Achievements:

  • Implemented an electronic avenue to replace the manual entry of invoicing, reducing the accounting staff by three full time employees.
  • Automated the manual entry of accounts receivables payments from General Motors and Delphi.
  • Replaced the manual problem reporting and request for enhancement processing with an MUMPS application.
  • Automated the shipments possessing to match what General Motors system for invoicing purposes
  • Created a set of MUMPS programs to import external data then processed for invoicing and customer payment receipts, a savings of $90,000 and eliminating five full time employees.
  • Created forecasting reports for ordering purposes
  • Launched a new application for a new line of business where sequence orders and bill of materials where received from General Motors, producing pick slips based on the customer’s bill of materials, shipping bill of lading, invoicing and payments, saving company more than $200,000 in hardware and software.

Genesys Physicians Hospital Organization (PHO), Flint, Michigan

A physician organization for hospital and private physicians, employing 250 that maintained staffing, training, computer systems and insurance contracting for the group physicians.  Accountable for Help Desk assignments to five technicians, maintained and repaired hardware and software issues for 76 physicians’ offices and 3 corporate facilities over a 500-node Ethernet LAN/WAN/DMZ network of AIX, Windows NT, 2000, Novell, Citrix and Sun (Gauntlet Firewall) servers.

Key Achievements:

  • Honored as Employee of the Month
  • Saved company more than $60,000 in staffing, overtime, and travel expenses by implemented remote control software to control remote PC’s for installing clients, and updating software.
  • Designed standards for bring new physicians offices onto the Intranet.
  • Created departmental and company standards, policy and procedures for computer and phone systems, this includes support, installations, cabling, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting guides, and repairs.
  • Created standards for producing quarterly reports to upper management for response time, server and network downtimes, support issues and timelines, and status of yearly goals.
